Most marketer's at some point will utilize the power of sales letters or squeeze pages.
If you have been online for any length of time you have visited many sales letter sites & probably bought a few products from them.
A sales letter is fundamentally a 1 page site, it may well also have video embedded in it, but the letter has only 1 call to action "BUY NOW"
A simple breakdown of a sales page;
That's it in a nutshell but its much easier taking an existing template & adding in your details.
You can also use Sales Letter Software to do the hard work for you, Just fill in the blanks.
If you have a product, service or ebook to sell this is the way to promote & sell it.
BUT WAIT
You can also use your own sales letters to promote someone else's product & Capture Emails!
Commonly referred to as;
This is most common when using PPC (Pay Per Click) but you can use sales page squeezes to capture emails from anywhere before forwarding to the affiliate product you are promoting.
The biggest Newbie mistake is not to build a list especially if you are using PPC. You are spending allot of money to get someone to the affiliate site you are promoting & unless they buy you get nothing.

If you decide to make your own landing / squeeze page. Just copy the affiliate sites landing page reword it a little but keep the general layout. Add your capture form & set your autoresponder to send your visitor onto the original site using your affiliate link after they have submitted their details.
The only difference between the products Sales page & this type of Squeeze page is that the "BUY NOW" button is replaced with a "More Info Button" & a name and email capture field. Many marketer's do this on their own sites just in case the visitor doesn't buy.
This is perfect for PPC because Google won't let you use an affiliate redirect & your landing page will be relevant & full of the keywords you are promoting.
Developing this landing page is easy if you can copy - You are now list building, set your autoresponder to send the welcome email with 2 or 3 alternatives to the original product just in case they didn't like the 1st site you now have 2 or 3 more chances to make some money.
A different type of squeeze page is a purchase return page, I personally don't see the point as your payment processor can be set to forward the customers details onto your autoresponder.
